live window display

Looking at different live window displays I came the to conclusion that I want  to create a window display that has an event attached to it. By combining the live display with an event held at Hepwrights I hope that I will achieve what I set out to at the beginning  which was to help create more of a buzz  around Hepwrights promote the business more and gain the company more customers.
By organising an event to run alongside the window I should be able to create a fun busy day at Hepwright's that could help gain new customers.
Things that i need to orgainse for the event.
Models
Makeup artist
Hair Stylist
Dj
Facebook event
Flyers
Photographers
Press (maybe)

photographs from the studio shoot

Today I edited and retouched soon of the photographs from the shoot i created for Hepwright's's last week.
Some of these images are my personal favorites and the best work I have created in the past three years of universty.
There were only two problems that made the shoot difficult the first being that my make up artist did not turn up to so i had to find a first year studio to create a make up style on the spot as the make up artist had the final face charts. Luckily the makeup idea that I had decided on for the shoot wasn't to extravagant and was quite easy to explain so in the end the make up wasn't to different to what I wanted.
The second problem  was the size of the studio. The studio was perfect for shooting one model at a time however once both of the models where in frame it felt a bit to cramped and they didn't have as much room to move about Because of this issue there is a lot more singular shots and less group shots.
Here's some of the photographs let me know what you think.

Live Window display idea

For my final window display I decided that it would be a cool idea to create a live action window display. This is where models are used instead of mannequins they can interact with passers by or just be moving statues such as those that stand on the street painted metalic.
One of my favorite live window displays was created by Adidas at Christmas in 2010.
The dancers performed a range of routines on a rotation of groups of three. This kind of display really draws a crowd to it because most window displays are static and  just involve sight, this window display involves both sight and hearing. The dancers interacting with the public makes passers by  stop and look the more people stopping and looking they more people that will enter the shop seeing whats going on inside the shop.

Z card

Creating My CV.

Designing a creative CV that reflects your personality and work  is important. My CV reflects my personality because its fun, quirky and slightly chaotic.
I picked the font 'Impact Label' as it looks like a Dynamo tape writer I remember being younger and spending hours playing with my pink and orange Dynamo making labels for everything I could.
For this reason I decided that it would be the best font for me as it brings back memories but also it is a bold and fun font.
My CV is all on angles  keeping away from the normal CV writing in straight lines across the page. I felt that this made my CV interesting and eye catching.
In the top left and corner is a self portrait of me and my step dad. I used this picture to describe  myself, the photograph was taken off my favorite camera that is a film fish eye camera. I didn't have any serious self portraits of myself on a SLR camera so this lomography camera was the next best thing. Including the fish eye photograph also shows a different style of photography that I like to use that is a lot more natural and fun than some of my other photography.
On my CV I also decided to include a selection of images from my portfolio this should interest people give them an idea what my work is like and make them want to view my website.

Let me know what you all think of my CV and how you would change it or do differently.
The next thing i need to do is to create a Z card.

Chosing Garments.

The next step in my final major project is to create a series of promotional images for Hepwright's.
After over an hour in Hepwrights pulling out garments that both Catherine and I wanted to be in the shoot and then trying to find a story that could link them together.
There weres many outfit that  got taken out of the final collection and then got put back in.
I found that because Hepwrights is a one off vintage shop styling this shoot was more challenging because there arent trends as there is on the high street, there are just clothes that are similar in style because they are from one period in time.
As we didn't want to have the images based on one period in time we  have to find a story to link them.
Eventually we agreed on the garments and the theme connecting them would be a wedding or party. This meant that we could show off some of the best dresses but also accessories such as hats.
Here are some quick snaps of the garments that I picked.

This was my first choice of dresses that I wanted to photography I think it stood out to me because of the sequin bodice section. There was something about this dress that is timeless as it could be worn and people would not know that it was vintage.

The detail on the bottom half of this dress is fabulous. The dress had a matching jacket to go with it with the same pattern but I decided that it would work better with out the jacket.

Sequined tops are very much a high street trend at the moment so having a original styled one would work well in my photo shoot.  I plan on teaming this top with either pink cotton trousers or white linen ones.

This dress is going to be perfect for the shoot its going to stand out  and inject pattern into the images.

Now anybody that knows me knows that I am not a fan of the colour yellow don't ask me why I just never think it works well on people however this particular shade of pastel yellow caught my eye with its little triangle pattern on it I feel that it could bring a lot to the shoot.

The colour of this dress is one of my personal favourites and the cut of it will be very flattering on my models. The dress really has a party or wedding feel to it.

This is another sequined vest top that will be paired with the white linen trousers.

This jacket was only a maybe to the collection however I decided that it was worth taking to the shoot anyway as we might use it and I would probably regret it if I didn't take it.

So that was my clothes ready and sorted for my photo shoot now all I had to do was email these images to my make up artist so she could make up the face charts.
